Finisterre Spain

By

Today I finished the Camino finisterre hiking the last 16 miles into Finisterre. This last section includes several miles of the coast Atlantic villages rather than just the hilly farm villages of the Camino. These smaller seaside towns had nice beaches and steeper mountains leading to the sea. Once there I took the 3 hour bus ride back to Santiago to prepare for the flight to Florence tomorrow.

First view of the ocean villages below on the Camino
Small towns on the winding coast
Clear blue waters
Cafe con leche with the dipper pastry
Still warm in Spain in mid October
At times the trail would take you high above the sea.
Meeting new hikers on the trail. These folks are from uk and South America
Finally arrived in Finisterre
Hung out for a few hours waiting for the bus back to Santiago at these rocks.

After spending another 2 weeks hiking the Camino Santiago, I can highly recommend this adventure for almost anyone. Services and options to make it easy, fun and social and even very affordable if staying in Albergues. Moving your luggage is easy and food and lodging is plentiful. The scenery is wonderful and rural and hiking is fairly easy for much of it. I have met many pilgrims ( the term for hikers ) who have done a variety of caminos often 9+ times and it’s so popular people have Camino addiction problems.
