Trail log

By

One of the projects I did this summer and finally having some time to enjoy it is the trail log book and sign station I created at the top of Sonora pass where the pct hikers cross hwy 108 and record for others their arrival to this location near Pinecrest.

The log book consists of about 41 pages of entries with each page of 31 entries or some 1200 entries by hikers and mostly pct hikers.

This small piece of trail crossing is filled with hikers from around the world who come to hike the pct.

Keeping with the pct tradition, most hikers are signing the trail log with their trail names and a place they call home. It brings joy to see the funny trail names and the stories that go along with each name and each hiker and their adventures.

This log book serves many purposes as hikers can look back to see which hikers are ahead and arrived or could be used to help locate hikers if lost or injured.
