Korčula Croatia

By

Another island that is an hour ferry ride from Hvar. Another big island maybe 20 miles long with multiple towns. The famous feature of this island is that Marco Polo, the early explorer, came from this island. They have many Marko Polo shops all over town.

This town like other Croatian island towns really shut down after busy summer season so much quieter and locals get their island back.

This area is a popular sailing cruising destination with many places to anchor and seek protection from winds and seas.

Lots of other smaller motorboats with cabins for exploring the area for a few days. A big boating community.

Lots of marinas and secluded bays – the hills on some islands are thousands of feet tall
These islands have real elevation on them as well
The old town city with castle
Lots of narrow streets in the old town section converted into a million tiny shops and food stalls and apartments.
Other parts of the town. About 10 towns on this island
Some signs showing his route
These are larger bays between islands
