This summer has been an active musical summer with the starting and organizing the weekly Wednesday night music jam. Each week is filled with a group of 5-10 very talented and experienced musicians and singers who take turns suggesting songs, helping us each learn the song. Each song has opportunities for individuals to perform more focus solos for a verse or chorus.

There are many times at the cabin during the evenings or days when a visiting pct hiker will start playing and performing from the variety of guitars and piano at the cabin. Quickly a cabin jam session and maybe some dancing will occur too.

Hikers who are musicians appreciate the opportunity to play an instrument for even a short visit.

I’ve helped get other musical groups to come to the Pinecrest community lodge including the Columbia college jazz singers class.
