A longer hike of 24 km mostly a descent of about 1000 meters to a wonderful lake and town of Bohinjsko Jezero.

Another stunning day of hiking with tidy farms that were empty of the summer cows and villages almost completely quiet. The busy summer season ends quick in mid to late September and places close up to re-open for the skiing season in December.

I arrived early enough to check into the hostel and have a quick swim in the lake before heading off to dinner with my hostel room mates from Australia and New Zealand.

The trail at times was steep and like a river bed filled with rounded stones. Other trail sections went into free range areas where I had to share the narrow road with cattle. The trail was most empty with just a few hikers hiking a few days in the opposite direction.
