Grahovo ob Bači Slovenia

By

Another day of 1000 meters of elevation and about 16 km hiking. Some very steep sections in parts where the rocky soil makes it easy to slip. The trail is often narrow and drops off a few hundred feet as the mountains are just almost vertical everywhere.

The trail is empty of hikers and towns seem deserted but you can tell just recently the trail and towns must have been filled hikers and folks managing the sheep or cows on the steep fields.

Hiking up from the valley
The trail will take one down to that tiny town and chapel below
Steep descents and rapid ascents back up
Old villages with houses falling apart in places
The trail or old was probably built hundreds of years and supported those living here as ways to access the high alpine farms
Thick walled houses
