Split Croatia

By

After a very long 14 hour journey by bus from Kransta Gora to Split Croatia, I arrived in the dark with another 30 minute walk across town to my apartment place.

This is a busy tourist town but offers some really unique old castles and buildings converted into a town center. The coast is filled with public swimming beach after swimming beach that must be popular in the summer but still some swimmers here in October. The weather is warm to hot still in this drier sea community. Behind the city are huge dry mountains thousands of feet tall. The split bay is filled with cruise ships and many sailing vessels. On the first day I walked around the 2000 year old original castle that was the theme movie set for the game of thrones and walked miles along the various city beaches.

Inside the old castle walls and the stores and buildings created in the last 2000 build around the original castle elements
Hiking along the beach front outside of the city center
Huge marina to cruise ship’s navigating the bay infront of the city
The castle joins many newer buildings in the old town area
These guys are playing a game with a small rubber ball and hit it back to each other with just their hands and no paddles and purposefully fall in the water to hit it back. Game is called bačvice and being played at bačvice beach!
